Thursday is July 4, the holiday on which we celebrate the nation’s Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence 248 years ago. Newton has so much more to offer on July 4 than the standard fireworks and food (but there will be fireworks and food, so don’t worry). Here’s a rundown of events in Newton to celebrate Independence Day. Kids’ Morning From 10 a.m. to noon, kids ages Join us for the annual Indpendence Day Celebration in Newton, MA at Albemarle Field! All your favorite rides, games, and carnival treats! FRIDAY July 4th, 1 - 10pm. DIGITAL TICKETING INFO: Purchase digital credits online or on site to use for the rides, games, & food (1 credit = $1). There is a transaction fee of $2 for each initial purchase. July 4th Open Air Market attracts a steady stream of people during the day, with live music throughout the day at the gazebo, and a kiddie carnival with rides and food trucks. The crowd grows towards the evening with live music on the main stage beginning at 6pm, and a fireworks spectacular at dark. The fun continues with a carnival featuring kiddie amusement rides by Cushing Amusements, local business vendor booths, and a handmade craft fair. At 1pm gather at the gazebo to enjoy the music at the gazebo. There will be plenty of tables for enjoying refreshments from a variety of food trucks parked around the grounds. Trumbull County Newton Falls 4th of July Parade and Weekend West Broad Street, Newton Falls This small-town celebration includes a parade at 10 a.m., DJ Big B in the Beer Tent at 5 p.m. and fireworks at dusk. Tuscarawas County City of New Philadelphia Gigantic Fireworks Display Tuscora Park Practice Field This event is scheduled for July 5th.
