Essentially every movie I've ripped has had at least 2 identical files. The most recent was independence day 20 year anniversary edition. It had 2 files identical in size around 50gb and 2 files around 43gb. I assumed the 50 is probably extended edition but still had 2 identical copies. Little did I know at the time this was the perfect drive for 4k reads. Beginnners luck. Anyway ive got the Blu Ray side mastered. MakeMKV is a format converter, otherwise called "transcoder". It converts the video clips from proprietary (and usually encrypted) disc into a set of MKV files, preserving most information but not changing it in any way. I see there are two tracks each for the theatrical vs extended cut.
