On Sunday the 11th of August 2019, at the Fartown pavilion in Huddersfield, the Jamaica National Council celebrated the 57th year of Jamaican Independence. A patriotic crowd, live stage show, food, made sure that lots of friends from the past and present had a wonderful time. JAMAICAN Independence Day was celebrated in style in Huddersfield with a colourful parade. Despite an overcast day and drizzle yesterday’s procession brought a burst of Caribbean sunshine and spectacular. The parade was part of the Huddersfield Jamaican Festival. A PARADE through town celebrated the 47th year of Jamaica's independence. The Huddersfield Jamaica National Council organised the colourful event in town.
