Arlington Independence Day Parade The Arlington Independence Day Parade is the oldest event in Arlington and one of the largest 4th of July parades in Texas. Celebrating its 60th anniversary, the 2025 theme is “Shining Bright Since ’65, Arlington Independence Day Parade, Diamond Jubilee.” THE Ministry of Information plans to hold a colour photo competition titled ‘Beautiful Myanmar’ to commemorate the 77th Independence Day, which will be observed on 4 January 2025. Gambier’s annual celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Independence Day. Gaskin Avenue will close between Wiggin Street and Brooklyn Street. Mayor Leeman Kessler will kick off the activities at 11 a.m. with a proclamation. He will also present the 2025 Citizen of the Year and Poet Laureate awards. Sunset Speedway will host the Star Spangled Celebration 2025, a race day on July 4 capped with the fireworks show, a joint effort between the city, the speedway, and the Banks business community. According to Banks Chamber of Commerce President Susie Jurgensen, the total funds raised for the fireworks show was $25,000. Entries are invited for the “Independence Day 2025 – Photography Competition”. The theme of the competition is “Gandhian Heritage in Modern India”. Each participant can send only one entry on standard photographic paper of A4 size along with the soft copy of his/ her entry in a CD.
