As Independence Day approaches, communities across Western New York are preparing for a festive week packed with firework displays, parades, concerts, and carnival attractions. Though this is a celebratory holiday, most of the day's events take on a rather somber tone. One of the most unique celebrations of Independence Day in the country is the Warsaw Independence Run. At the start of the race all of the runners join together to make a display of the Polish flag. The most famous event of the day is the Independence March in Warsaw. An event initially created by the far-right organization “Independence March Organization”, it is an event that is attended by thousands of people every year.
