(July 2, 2025) — Fairfax City puts on a fabulous birthday party for the U.S.A.! Enjoy a variety of events and activities all day on July 4, including a parade, family-friendly firefighter festivities, cupcakes at the museum, fireworks, and more! The parade has all the requisite ingredients for the Fourth of July: marching bands, floats, Shriners' little cars and big motorcycles, old fire engines, clowns, and the scorching sun. The parade has featured flyovers by the Flying Circus Aerodrome — and, in 1996, a hot air balloon race. One of the region’s most popular Independence Day traditions is back: The Dale City 4th of July Parade kicks off Thursday morning at 10 a.m. along Dale Boulevard.
