A Weekend of Celebrating America In Edenton NC Aboard The Albemarle Queen. Scenic Cruises, Scrumptious Brunches, Frosty Beverages, AND The Best In Local And Regional Music Will Be Performing Aboard “The Albemarle Queen.” This year will be the 250th Anniversary of what has become known as the Edenton Tea Party, and this Fourth of July we will be celebrating the courageous acts of those colonial women in Edenton! Another famous Edentonian we remember and celebrate is colonial leader and delegate to the Continental Congress, Joseph Hewes. Visit the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse from 9 am - 2 pm to celebrate the Fourth of July. Edenton Historic Site will have the building open during this time for public tours. From trap shooting in Honeyville to softball in Perry, each Starting at 2pm will be the Chowan-Edenton Optimist Club's Fabulous 4th of July Celebration with music, vendors and entertainment, and then fireworks (when the sky is dark) down at the waterfront.
