Alameda's 4th of July Parade is the longest in the nation with a route that spans 3.3 miles, attracting more than 150 entries and 2,500 participants. The Parade draws over 60,000 spectators from the region and entries include a full spectrum of Bay Area residents, including equestrians, dance troops, floats, antique cars, community groups, transported and marching bands from both the community In Bolinas, the Fourth of July parade begins at 11 a.m. at the southern end of Wharf Road. A Briones Lions Club barbecue starts at 10 a.m. at the downtown park. Bay Area Fourth of July events cause street closures on Friday. Affected areas include SF waterfront, Treasure Island, Alameda, Berkeley, Sonoma and more.
