A new trash and recycling collection program is starting in Arlington July 1, and residents are being advised to take note of upcoming changes. The ad-hoc task force studying trash collection options in Falls Church continues to refine ideas as a key deadline draws ever nearer. With two meetings down and two more to go, the goal is to now Arlington announces July 4th service changes; trash pickup delayed, some facilities closed, while golf and tennis remain open. Through the end of July, crews will pick up curbside trash, recycling and organics starting at 6 a.m. to take advantage of cooler morning temperatures. Residents should place carts at the Arlington County Government offices and services are operating on modified schedules for the Independence Day Holiday on Thur., July 4, 2024. Residents whose regularly scheduled garbage and recycling collection day falls on July 4 will have their curbside collection shifted by one day because of the holiday.
