New Jersey residents and visitors have plenty of options to enjoy dazzling Fourth of July fireworks shows this year. July 3, 9 p.m. Independence Day in LBI’s Surf City kicks off on July 3rd with a spectacular fireworks display by the Surf City VFC, held on the bayfront near Surf City Bay Beach (17th St & Barnegat Ave.) On July 4th, the city will hold their annual 4th of July Parade along 5th Street. The parade begins at 6:30pm. Surfcityfireandems.org/ap Jersey City has announced its Independence Day Festival activities and fireworks demonstration. There’s a whole lot going on in Jersey City on July 4th, with daylong activities featuring popular food trucks, three DJ stages, a family fun zone and so much more. Wednesday, July 3rd. Lacey – The Fireworks Display at Lacey Township High School – Display begins at Dusk – 9:15 pm Bring your own chairs! In the event of severe weather/rain the alternate date is July 5th. Surf City – Surf City Firehouse presents the town’s fireworks at 9 pm on the bay beach. Thursday, July 4th The Ocean City Pops will also perform a pair of free outdoor concerts on July 3 and July 4 to celebrate Independence Day. The Pops will play patriotic classics and audience favorites in honor of the nation’s birthday during 8 p.m. shows at Carey Stadium. Free face-painting for kids will be available at both shows.
