RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Custer’s annual Fourth of July fireworks show had previously been run by the Custer Volunteer Fire Department. This year, the city’s chamber of commerce will lead the Kick off your Fourth of July with dazzling parades that weave through the heart of the Black Hills. These events are a showcase of American pride, featuring vibrant floats, marching bands, and a community coming together to celebrate freedom. Parades and Flag Ceremonies (free and open to the public) July 4, 10 am: Kids’ Parade to be followed by the Patriots’ Parade, downtown Custer. Flag Lowering and Raising Ceremonies following the parade at 11 am at the Veterans Memorial on Washington & 5th Streets.
