People are gearing up for July 4 festivities with a number of ways to celebrate Independence Day across Montgomery County. On Thursday, July 4th, 2024, the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association (GGPA) will be sponsoring the Annual Independence Day Parade and Fireworks Display. Abington Township works closely with the Patriotic Association to ensure that a safe and memorable day is had by all. Scheduled for each July 4th, the three-tiered event features a grand starburst of patriotism, starting with a morning children's program in a local park, then a huge, colorful parade at 4 p.m. and finally an after-dark fireworks spectacular above Abington High School's athletic and playing fields. No matter where you plan to celebrate, there are dozens of July 4th fireworks celebrations happening across the entire Delaware Valley.
