RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – There’s no shortage of festivities taking place this week throughout central North Carolina to celebrate the Fourth of July. Several cities and towns across the region are hosting events and celebrations to observe the Independence Day holiday. Here’s a comprehensive guide of fireworks shows happening this year. Chapel Hill Fireworks will also be shown in Chapel Hill tonight at Southern Community Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic supplies, like coolers, blankets, and chairs. Fireworks show Chapel Hill’s 4th of July fireworks celebration will take place Tuesday at Southern Community Park, 1000 Sumac Road, Chapel Hill. Event parking opens at 7 p.m. Fireworks display is expected to begin at 9 p.m. People are encouraged to bring blankets and Just outside of Durham, fireworks displays will also take place at Southern Community Park in Chapel Hill, Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary and Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh. July starts off with a bang, but even after the fireworks end, there’s plenty to do and celebrate in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and the rest of the Triangle.
