Schools are not allowed to prolong your child’s eligibility determination or potential IEP development to further test. The District is required to hold an IEP eligibility meeting within 10 days of receipt of the private evaluation. The school system is not required to make the eligibility determination during the 60-day initial evaluation timeline. As a matter of best practice, within 10 calendar days of completion of the evaluation report(s), an eligibility meeting should be held.
